Doug's Towing and Recovery has been providing auto service in many forms to the Elizabethtown residents since 1978. Our company started as Doug's Exxon, opening with just one wrecker. We operated out of a two-bay garage and became Doug's Chevron in 1982. Since then our story has been one of continued growth and development, and we'd love to share some of it with you here so you can get a feel for who we are as a company. Read on for more details.

Adding equipment

In 2001 we purchased two heavy duty wreckers at the request of our customers. A large semi-truck was added in 2002, along with a specialized division allowing us to service heavy trucks and transport heavy equipment. We also acquired a local towing service in 2006 which gave us over 40 units on the road every day, servicing our customers.

The 80s and 90s

By 1988, business had grown so additions were needed; the existing two bays were no longer enough. Doug's Chevron doubled our bay space and continued operations at the East Dixie location. In 1994, after the contract expired with Chevron, and with his son, Kevin joining the business, Doug's Towing and Recovery was born. This marked the first time the company would have two wreckers for customer needs.

Continued growth

After many years of servicing the Elizabethtown area we have become the largest company of our kind here. In fact, we have grown so much we are one of Kentucky’s largest as well.
